Being surrounded by an “unconventional sea” of green hills, once in Umbria, you will feel your body connecting with nature. This BeMyJourney’s Travel Experience takes you right to the green heart of Umbria, the cradle of Italian spirituality that hosts many old monasteries and ancient hermitages. This is the land and birthplace of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Benedict, a location where the deepest aspects of life have been contemplated over history. Within this context, Eremito welcomes you in a hermitage nestled on top of a hill overlooking an uncontaminated valley, surrounded by 3000 hectares of UNESCO natural reserve. A place that has been designed for the modern traveller to enjoy a full digital detox break, spending a few days having a yoga studio by hand (no instructor available onsite), while rediscovering the almost forgotten luxury of silence and peace. Moreover, with BeMyJourney you even get 10% off on your stay.

A long weekend. Thanks to the central location of Umbria, this Travel Experience can be combined with other destinations in Umbria or by vising one of the other regions nearby. If you want help defining your itinerary, get in touch with Andrea and you’ll discover places you would not find otherwise.
All year-round, but autumn and winter colours create a unique palette.
___________
Staying at Eremito means reestablishing a deep contact with your body, mind and soul. The morning readings, the yoga studio, the silent dinner, are all part of an experience designed for you to find a new balance. But to get to know some of the “behind the scenes” of this unique place, I suggest spending some time with the Eremito’s cook, discovering the principles at the basis of the healthy food philosophy shaped by Eremito. Indeed, here recipes are chosen from the healthiest Italian monastic tradition, which through its flavours has inspired the Eremito’s kitchen in the preparation of vegetarian dishes. Take part in a homemade pasta or bread cooking session with the Eremito’s chef to learn some of the secrets of these Italian traditional recipes.
Prices start from 30 euro per person, get in touch with Andrea to learn more.

BEMYJOURNEY’S EXPERIENCE ~ “Being secluded in an extended nature reserve, with neither wi-fi nor TV, staying at Eremito was a deep experience of reconnection with nature and my soul. Something very much needed after a year spent mostly indoor. This is a place of contemplation where I appreciated the silence, the simplest flavours offered by the kitchen, the group readings in the morning – while the sun was rising – and the bonfire after dinner as a moment of connection with the other travellers.” Andrea
BEMYJOURNEY’S EXTRA ~ Book on Eremito website mentioning “BeMyJourney” in the notes of your booking and you will get a 10% discount on your stay (full-board included, “Behind the scene of Eremito’s kitchen” experience excluded). Travellers who will stay longer than 7 nights will be treated with a welcome gift.
WHAT TO EXPECT ~ Eremito is a place of silence, reflection, meditation, spirit, awareness and community. This is the ideal place for solo travellers and people who aspire to spend a spiritual holiday surrounded by nature. Here, guest rooms were designed like “Celluzze”, the cells used by the hermits who, in that small and simple space, were able to find time for meditation and prayer. Although the small rooms feature all the basic comforts, you will not find a telephone nor a TV or a wi-fi connection. Instead, there is a comfortable desk made of stone where you can let your inspiration fly while admiring the green valley. Prices per night with full-board: single occupancy 230 euro, double occupancy 330 euro (Be MyJourney’s extra discount will be applied to these prices).
FOOD PHILOSOPHY ~ In harmony with Eremito’s ethos, dinner is served observing silence so that you can taste the food calmly and savour the nourishment that is presented to you. Eremito offers a healthy and moderate diet, choosing recipes from the monastic Mediterranean tradition. Here, tastes and smells remind the ones prepared in the Umbrian kitchens of the small villages built nearby monasteries. The cuisine is vegetarian with a fixed menu.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY ~ By trying to integrate into the surrounding environment with a low environmental impact and proposing itself as a place of community for the locals, Eremito promotes the integration and development of the workforce in the nearby medieval village of Parrano. Eremito was built with thousands of stones, almost every one sculpt to fit into the structure, following the ancient art of Italian masonry. It took years to accomplish the work, and today Eremito is a place that embodies modern technology together with materials, shapes and forms of ancient beauty. The faithful restoration from the original structure has been carried out using eco-friendly systems and respecting the canons of green architecture and green building.
