WHERE ~ Savelletri, Valle d’Itria – Eastern Apulia
BEMYJOURNEY’S EXPERIENCE ~ “Masseria Cimino is one of the most authentic masserie you can experience in Puglia, and one of the few located by the sea. The hotel is still managed by the original owner of the historic farmhouse, which gives it a strong sense of connection to its roots.” Andrea
WHAT TO EXPECT ~ Masseria Cimino is a fortified farmhouse with a tower dating back to the 18th century. The farmhouse is located a few meters away from the sea and adjacent to the archaeological site where the ruins of the Ancient Roman city Egnatia, founded in the 6th century B.C., were discovered. In the 1700s, blocks of stone from the perimeter wall of Egnatia were used in the construction of the farmhouse. In 2001, part of the land surrounding the Masseria was developed to build the San Domenico Golf Club, a spectacular 18-hole professional golf course overlooking the sea. In 2005, the Masseria was completely restored with great effort to preserve its original architectural features, building materials, and colours of the old farmhouse. Prices start from €190 per night, including half-board service.
FOOD PHILOSOPHY ~ Masseria Cimino offers half-board services, including breakfast and a dinner buffet rich in traditional Apulian specialities.
COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY ~ The property is a historical residence dating back to the 18th century and a biological farm. Surrounded by expansive vegetable gardens and century-old olive groves, Masseria Cimino stands at the centre of an important agricultural estate specialising in the cultivation and preservation of local fruits and vegetables.
