OUR PRIVATE SPACE FOR INSPIRATION
We are a community of curious travellers who want to experience, rather than go.
We crave to connect with locals, to hear their stories and follow their tips so we can go beyond the well-known places to explore something secluded, authentic… And if we get lost on the way, we won’t fear it.
We love a kind of beauty that is raw – real – and with our journeys, we want to get under the skin of the country we are discovering.
For us, travel means freedom and it’s a route to openness and growth. I founded BeMyJourney as a source of inspiration for you to take less known paths, experiencing Italy as curious travellers rather than just tourists.
If you are here, it’s because we share the same values, so welcome to our community’s discovery room, an unwinding space created to fuel your travel dreams and discover new destinations in Italy through the Seasonal journeys and the Travel experiences that I have designed exclusively for our community.

#1 Study the language before you arrive and know basic words and phrases, to help get you around. Not only is this respectful, but it will make you feel more comfortable to be able to converse, even a little, with a local #2 Don’t forget that you’re in a brand new country, so schedule some FUN each day! This might be an entire day off for you to do a day trip or ending your day earlier to take yourself out to a nice dinner and gelato #3 Homesickness will come up and at very odd times, so be prepared for that. Something that really helped me, was have a FaceTime date with a close friend and/or family at least twice a week. It helped me feel more connected to my loved ones back home and being able to see their face was as if they were right across from me. Technology is really a wonderful thing, when used right!

I have gotten lost! Actually a few times. And it depends on many things how I’ve felt…I felt scared and intimidated when I arrived at Paris railway station alone pretty late at night with a heavy rug sack type of a bag. I was trying to find my hotel to then continue the next morning to Cherbourg where I was about to hop on a sailing boat heading down to Madeira. Railway stations and their surroundings are always a bit sketchy, and I felt scared, exhausted and alone. I knew immediately that was not a great spot to look lost and alone, or to walk back the way you just came from. I usually don’t take taxis, but that time I ended up using one. But usually, I love getting lost in new cities, sometimes even hoping to do that! One time that happened was when I was in Milan for the first time. I was wandering around the old streets with a friend, just talking, people watching, stopping by at a nice shop or a coffee place, and eventually being totally confused about how we ended up where we ended up. We intentionally decided not to look at google maps until several hours and 25’000 steps. That was the best day of that trip!

“Excellent, personable service by a travel expert” Randy, March 2022
“BMJ made my holidays! Andrea gave me some great suggestions to organize my weekend in the mountains, not only for the choice of a great hotel but also to live the experience at 360°: tips for the best restaurant, SPA, shopping, excursions and itineraries in the area. I appreciated a lot also the personalized guide she sent me before the trip to better divide the days with the different things to do and place to see. All the place and restaurant suggested were great – Thanks Be My Journey and thank you so much Andrea!!” Valentina, January 2022
